Celtic interlace

This is a drawing I've made for a friend of mine, who's gotten it tattoed on her leg^^

Well, I didn't exatcly draw it especially for her, but after we had been to the tatto-shop and looked at various designs I got inspirated and drew this
She looked at it and liked, so she asked if she coud have it and ofcourse I agreed, she's my friend^^

She did take it to the tatto artist and he worked some more on it, changed it a bit, but you can still see the original design.

When I drew it I tried to stick to the "rules" og celtic knot-work. The feet, the hindlegs anyway, are very typical and so is the knot on the wing. Since they didn't draw any dragons originatly, just birds and dogs it were a bit hard to find the typical design. But one thing I know for sure that's typical and a rule that many tattoes break is that everything is supposed to be ONE line. Many usually addes lines that isn't connected to the body at all, they are just a line with no appareant reason than makeing more knots.
